Joint Base Lewis-McChord
Welcome to Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, “Home of America’s Corps!” Named in honor of explorer Meriwether Lewis, Joint Base Lewis-McChord is made up of active, reserve and National Guard units dispersed throughout the United States Pacific Command Joint Task Force Headquarters. Central Texas College proudly stands ready to provide quality education to America’s soldiers, family members and local residents.
Central Texas College has been offering college classes on Joint Base Lewis-McChord since March 2001. Our site began when the Initial Brigade Combat Team (IBCT) requested we create and provide two courses for their soldiers who were preparing to deploy. Those courses, Terrorism: Looking for Answers and Human Dimensions of Leadership in Combat, are still offered as elective courses in the Associate of General Studies Degree.
Our Joint Base Lewis-McChord site representatives serve as a point-of-contact for students and provide such services as degree mapping, assisting in the registration process for active duty Soldiers, Airman, Reserve, National Guard and civilians, guidance for distance learning students and a VA certifying official. All students have access to the Technical Academic Resource Center (TARC), and distance learning students have access to the testing center through our partnership with the Stone Education Center and Army Education Services.
All of our courses are available to the entire community. We offer five eight-week in-class terms throughout the year and new online courses each month. Tuition is currently $115 per credit for our on-site traditional classes, $150 per credit for on-line classes and $150 per credit for eArmyU classess. Whatever your education goals happen to be, our faculty and staff are committed to helping you reach them.
See our updated list of available online degrees and certificates through the Distance Education link as well as our current schedule for on-site classes through the schedule link here on our homepage.
