CTC
offers new computer security management programs this fall
Central
Texas College recently announced the addition of two new
online computer management programs to be offered this fall.
The first is an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Information
Security Management and the second is a Security Management
Specialist Certificate of Completion. Both programs can
be completed solely online and will be available with the
fall 2009 semester.
CTC
now offers 22 online certificate programs and 21 online
degree programs.
Students
enrolling in the Information Security Management degree
plan will be required to complete 63 credit hours. Some
of the courses included in the degree program include fundamentals
if Information Security, Firewalls and Network Security,
Security Assessment and Auditing, Integrated Software Applications
and Operating System Security. The program is designed to
provide students with the tools to determine policies and
procedures to safeguard data on computers and networks and
monitor compliance. As more personal, business and national
security information is being stored on computers, more
career opportunities are becoming available in the area
of information security.
The
Information Security Management Specialist certificate program
provides students with the knowledge of computer security
in courses such as Fundamentals of Information Security,
Security Management Practices and Project Management Software.
The certificate requires 31 credit hours and can be completed
in one year (two semesters).
Online
registration for these and other programs is underway now
for returning students. New students can register August
17-28. Fall classes begin August 31. Information about the
new programs can be found at www.ctcd.edu
using the Programs of Study link.
