Know your campus emergency resources

Following the incident on Fort Hood last week, employees should be aware of the resources available concerning campus emergencies. Employees are encouraged to review the campus emergency plan which can be found in the online safety manual on the faculty/staff web page. The crisis communication plan is also available there. Also, employees and students are asked not to rely solely on text messaging with the campus emergency alert system. As was the case last week, the network was flooded with calls and texts and many text messages went unsent until much later. If you have not signed up for the free campus emergency alerts, you can do so on WebAdvisor. Also, many counseling resources are available both on and off campus.
