Central Texas College (CTC) will host Saturday Start on Saturday, June 23 to introduce recent high school graduates to options in higher education. The free event serves as a preview day of CTC classes and student services and is scheduled from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. in the Anderson Campus Center (Bldg. 156).

During Saturday Start, attendees can meet representatives from various academic departments to learn about the many available programs of study, meet academic advisers to establish their degree plan, discuss transfer credit options and get hands-on assistance with the admissions process, financial aid and registering for summer II and fall semester classes. Attendees can also explore career options available through short-term certificate of completion programs to prepare for in-demand jobs.

“This is a one-stop information session for recent high school graduates who are undecided about college,” said Tonia Griffin, CTC counselor/recruiter. “Those who participate in Saturday Start are under no obligation to attend CTC. We want recent graduates to know what CTC has to offer and help them get a jump start on the admissions process and their degree or certificate plan should they decide to begin their college education at CTC.”

Parents are also welcome to attend Saturday Start to learn about CTC student service offerings, financial aid options, academics and campus policies. Students and parents will also be treated to tour of the CTC campus. Anyone interested in attending CTC’s Saturday Start should register online at bit.ly/satstart18 by June 21 or call the CTC Guidance and Counseling office at 254-526-1409. The first 100 to register will receive a free t-shirt.
